In furtherance of its commitment to health-conscious offerings, Barilla has undertaken a strategic expansion of its product portfolio within the United States by integrating Cellentani pasta shape – also recognized as Cavatappi – into its Protein+ line. Crafted from durum wheat and fortified with protein derived from chickpeas, lentils, and peas, this pasta variant boasts a nutritional profile comprising sixteen grams of protein and ten grams of fiber per one hundred grams of product.

Cellentani represents the latest addition to Barilla’s Protein+ pasta collection, renowned for its emphasis on high-protein formulations. Existing selections within the lineup encompass Capelli d’Angelo, Elbows, Farfalle, Penne, Rotini, and Spaghetti (including fine strands) pasta shapes.

A preliminary sampling of the protein-enriched Cellentani was unveiled last March at the Natural Products Expo West in California, hosted at the Anaheim Convention Center. Consumers can anticipate imminent availability for purchase via Amazon and select Kroger supermarket outlets.

Angie Cotter, Barilla Americas’ marketing director, underscores the line’s aptitude in catering to “the evolving consumer demand for multifaceted food options delivering protein, convenience, and palatable indulgence. Protein-infused Cellentani is poised to captivate the discerning taste buds of children, culinary connoisseurs, and individuals seeking novel and delectable avenues for protein incorporation within their dietary regimen.”
