In a resounding success, Assocarni (the association of Italian meat industries) hosted a pivotal event in Beijing last Friday as part of the European project “EU Beef Asia.” The occasion shone a spotlight on the excellence of the European beef industry, particularly the Italian beef sector, reaffirming Italy’s enduring role as a key leader in beef production.

Key themes of the initiative revolved around animal welfare, food safety, and environmental sustainability. Notable attendees included Assocarni’s Director General, Francois Tomei, along with representatives from the Italian Embassy in Beijing and the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) in the Chinese capital. The Opposite House Hotel in Beijing played host to approximately seventy representatives from China’s prominent distribution channels and industry associations active in the sector.
