The Italian bank Intesa Sanpaolo has signed a new loan of 14 million euros with Roncadin, an Italian company specializing in the production of frozen pizzas. The aim is to launch an internationalization project through the US subsidiary, Roncadin Holding USA Corp. This involves the purchase and renovation of a production facility in Chicago and the construction of a new line for the production and distribution of frozen pizzas in the North American market. Roncadin has been present in the US for more than a decade and will now be able to strengthen its relationships with major local grocery chains.
RONCADIN BY THE NUMBERS
Since 1992, the Roncadin family’s passion has become a fast-growing success bringing the taste of real Italian pizza to homes around the world. The company currently employs about 780 people and produces more than 100 million pizzas a year. In 2022, the turnover reached 155 million euros.
THE BUSINESS EXPANSION PROGRAM
Roncadin produces pizzas under its own brand as well as for Italian and international private labels. It has recently expanded its business by adding fresh countertop dough to its frozen pizzas. The company’s goal is to continue to grow by investing in people, developing facilities, strengthening brands in various markets, and acquiring small and medium-sized companies in the pizza sector. This strategy shall also have a positive impact on the 600 carefully selected suppliers present in about 80 Italian provinces.
The CEO Dario Roncadin says, “Thanks to Intesa Sanpaolo’s financing, what has always been Roncadin’s great plan is getting even stronger: to export the best of Italian food all over the world. We have been present in the US market since 2016, and our goal is to grow even further.”
