On April 29 Eataly is opening its first store in the UK – in London, Broadgate, next to Liverpool Street station. The 4,000 square meters of the Italian food hall will host 4 restaurants, one of which is outdoor, in addition to the market and La Scuola educational space. The first to open will be the market, take-away and outdoor dining at La Terrazza. Then it will be the turn of the indoor restaurants and the launch of La Scuola on May 20. Finally, in September, the Terra restaurant will open.

Eataly London’s marketplace will offer more than 5,000 Italian products – many of them for the first time ever in the U.K. – as well as outstanding local specialties. It will include fresh counters such as bakery, butcher, fishmonger, charcuterie, and cheese. More than 2,000 wine labels will make Eataly London’s wine cellar the largest Italian one in Europe outside of Italy, while the dairy will produce mozzarella and fresh cheeses daily. La Via del Dolce will offer freshly baked cakes, pastries, cannoli and artisan gelato. The illy Gran Caffè completes the offer. The Terrace will host the Aperol Spritzeria with cocktails, wine and beer. Of great importance is the refill section for loose products, the first area of this kind in an Eataly, in order to further reduce the environmental impact of packaging.
“We are delighted to finally open the doors of Eataly London, to bring our love of Italian food and wine culture to the UK as well and give space to many Italian producers coming there for the first time” – says Eataly CEO, Nicola Farinetti.
