Tonitto 1939, a leading Italian producer of sorbets, no-added-sugar gelato, and high-protein and vegan ice cream, posted revenues of €16.2 million in 2024, a 13% increase from the previous year. The Genoa-based company extended its five-year growth trajectory, with domestic sales—representing 60% of total revenue—rising by €1.3 million, while exports added a further €700,000.
“We are proud of these results, which reflect the collective efforts of the entire company,” said general manager Alberto Piscioneri. “Rapid growth is an exciting and demanding challenge for a small business like ours.”
INTERNATIONAL EXPANSION GAINS MOMENTUM
Exports remain a central pillar of Tonitto’s strategy. In 2024, the company secured 14 new international clients, extending its presence to over 30 markets. It entered Peru and expanded into less conventional destinations, including Vietnam, Taiwan, Morocco, Greece, the UAE, North Macedonia, Oman, Croatia, Belgium, Luxembourg, Lithuania, Qatar, and Bulgaria.
Looking ahead, the company aims to deepen its footprint in Northern Europe, with Finland set to join its client portfolio. Further expansion into newly entered markets is also a priority, alongside efforts to establish a long-term presence in China.
NEW PRODUCT LAUNCHES IN 2025 FOR TONITTO
Tonitto plans to expand its product offering in 2025, strengthening its partnership with Bauli through the continuation of its “Panmoro” and “Pistachio Croissant” gelato lines. A collaboration with confectionery group Sperlari will also see the launch of a new Galatine-flavored gelato. Additional in-house innovations are in the pipeline, catering to evolving consumer tastes.
