The upcoming edition of Sigep, scheduled for January 18–22, 2025, will showcase an expanded footprint in Rimini, Italy, adding two new pavilions for a total of 138,000 square meters of exhibition space. The event, a cornerstone for the foodservice industry, promises a broader range of offerings and a sharper focus on innovation and sustainability.
Highlights include Taste of Tomorrow, a sustainable gelato concept emphasizing bio-architecture; the Sustainability District, tracing coffee and chocolate supply chains from origin to consumption; and the Bean-to-Bar Area, dedicated to the craftsmanship and science of chocolate production.
The international scope of Sigep 2025 is underscored by its 3,000 hosted buyers from 160 countries, organized in collaboration with the Italian Trade Agency and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Over 1,200 brands will exhibit cutting-edge technologies, novel ingredients, and bespoke services alongside premium finished products.
“This year, we are expanding into pizza,” said Flavia Morelli, Group Exhibition Manager for THE Italian exhibition group’s food and beverage division. “It’s a strategic addition to bolster Sigep’s role in global foodservice, particularly in markets outside Europe, where demand is accelerating.”
The Berlin roadshow, where the event was recently previewed, also offered insight into the European foodservice market. Jochen Pinsker, Senior Vice President at Circana, presented findings showing that while in-store visits have declined, sector spending is 8% higher than in 2019. Circana forecasts annual consumption growth of 3.5% through 2026, with pastry, gelato, and coffee leading the charge — categories at the core of Sigep’s offerings.
Sigep 2025 aims to be more than an exhibition; it seeks to be a platform for global industry players to innovate, connect, and capitalize on the foodservice sector’s evolving landscape.
