After revolutionizing the category of flours with the innovative Vpack (the low environmental impact paper packaging with a plastic cap from vegetable and renewable sources) Italy’s milling company Molino Rossetto makes a foray into the world of sugar, launching a new range of products at the sidelines on Cibus Forum meeting. The new line name is Blucartadazucchero and it is composed of four references in 500g ‘Vpack’ format.

Two of them, Zucchero di Barbabietola classico (Classic Beetroot sugar) and Zucchero di Barbabietola extrafine, can boast a 100% Italian and ‘zero km’ supply chain, since both the raw material and the two companies are from Pontelongo (Padua).

The other two references, Zucchero di Canna biologico (Organic Cane Sugar) and Zucchero di Canna golden (Golden Cane Sugar), come from a fair trade supply chain, in which each player works in safe conditions, without exploitation and with a fair wage.

MOLINO ROSSETTO BETWEEN FLOUR AND SUGAR

Sugar and flour are two kinds of food that share many things” – says Chiara Rossetto, CEO of the company. “In addition to being used together in a wide variety of recipes, since they represent the essential basis of every dessert, these products share a common ‘experience’. For a long time they were considered commodities but, also thanks to companies that worked hard to enhance quality, category management, communication, and diversification of the offer, they finally won the place they deserved. This project is a tribute to our territory and to the value of high-end agricultural supply chains.”
