The historic Italian Navy training ship, the Amerigo Vespucci, has docked in Los Angeles, where it will remain until Monday, July 8th, as part of its world tour, which began in 2023 and will conclude in 2025.
Alongside the Vespucci in the port, the Villaggio Italia has been established. This multi-year, traveling global exhibition showcases the best of Italian culture, offering visitors a unique glimpse into the beauty of Italy. From technology to art, from music to culture, the myriad facets of Made-in-Italy craftsmanship are on display as part of Vespucci’s global journey.
Eataly, the world’s largest Italian food hall chain, features the Ristorante Italia within the Villaggio Italia, highlighting Italian culinary specialties. Daily cooking shows are scheduled to present the diverse productions and traditions of Italy’s regions, showcasing the richness and biodiversity of its cultural heritage. Each evening at 5 PM, visitors can partake in the Italian Aperitivo, celebrating the distinctive flavors and traditions of Italian cuisine.
“We are proud to be part of the experience that the Amerigo Vespucci, one of the most beautiful ships in the world, offers visitors during its global voyage,” says Andrea Cipolloni, Group CEO of Eataly. “Among art, music, cinema, and design, food is one of the Italian excellences we are renowned for. Offering a selection of typical Italian dishes is one of the best ways to share our culinary traditions and further promote Italian culture.”
After July 8th, the Amerigo Vespucci will continue its journey across the seas. Eataly, within the Villaggio Italia, will be present at subsequent stops in Tokyo (from August 25th to 30th), and in Abu Dhabi, Doha, and Jeddah (between December and January), to create more authentic Italian experiences.
