The executive, former CEO of Autogrill Italy and Europe, will take up the post starting in December. The current CEO, Nicola Farinetti, will become chairman

Eataly, the biggest Italian food marketplace, has officially announced the appointment of Andrea Cipolloni as its new CEO starting next December. Following Eataly’s acquisition by Investindustrial, the executive will have the goal of “accelerating the global development of the Eataly group,” an official group statement says, “aiming to achieve significant revenue growth through new openings, already planned in North America, the creation of new formats, and the growth of the e-commerce channel development in Italy and Europe.”

Andrea Cipolloni (born 1968) joins Eataly, leaving the role of CEO of Autogrill Italy and Europe, strengthened by considerable experience in the retail world, including at Unieuro and Pittarosso. Nicola Farinetti, the outgoing CEO, will take over as the group’s chairman.
