Giovanni De Angelis, the General Director of Anicav, remarked on the pivotal role legumes can play in the face of contemporary challenges. He emphasized their dual significance as a cornerstone of a balanced diet and an exceptional source of alternative proteins with clear environmental advantages.

The numbers underscore the economic significance of this production. However, heightened concerns stem from geopolitical tensions in the Red Sea. The precarious situation is exerting substantial pressure on shipping costs, potentially impacting export dynamics,” warned De Angelis.
