Promoting canned legumes by enhancing the main characteristics of healthiness and taste is the goal of ANICAV, the Italian association of canned food industries. For this reason, as part of the Legumes from Europe project, on February 26th the association will present at Expo Dubai an event dedicated to one of the leading products of Italian food.
Canned legumes are in fact a key product for the Italian food sector, with a total turnover of about one billion euros (two-thirds of which generated by ANICAV member companies) and a clear vocation to exports. More than half of the total turnover, about 550 million, comes in fact from export sales.
“The worldwide demand for Italian canned legumes is constantly growing, confirming that consumers are increasingly focusing on high-quality products” – says Giovanni De Angelis, CEO of ANICAV. “Our production methods, the careful selection of raw materials and the technologies we use allow our companies to offer products that have no equals in the world, both in terms of quality and safety. The international showcase of Expo Dubai is the right opportunity to continue along the path of enhancing the value of our canned legumes”.
