Prosecco DOC on tour in Southeast Asia and Oceania

Last May, the Prosecco DOC Consortium successfully completed a series of missions abroad with a particular focus on countries in the Asia-Pacific region. Without forgetting the Moto GPTM stops in Barcelona and France at the Le Mans circuit. As well as the presence, for the second time, at Online Marketing Rockstar, a trade show dedicated to the world of online marketing which has been held for nine years in Hamburg, Germany, and at the “Europe Day 2023” in Singapore.

Among our most relevant recent activities,” said Consortium President Stefano Zanette, “our first time in New Zealand, a new target country for the promotion of Prosecco DOC, stands out. We found more Prosecco DOC labels on the wine list of every restaurant we visited than ‘Australian Prosecco’, despite the fact that New Zealand accounts for 85 percent of the export share of the latter’s production.”

New Zealand was one of the stops on Prosecco DOC’s long itinerary as part of Gambero Rosso’s Trebicchieri World Tour Special Edition. Each stop consisted of a press dinner with a menu specially created for the occasion, a conference aimed at better publicizing the characteristics of Prosecco DOC, and a walk-around tasting to encourage companies to further develop their business.

The Wine Tasting in Sydney, Australia

The journey of Prosecco DOC continued with the Top Italian Wines Roadshow in Australia, with a double stop in exclusive locations in Sydney and Melbourne, ending in Ho Chi Minh in Vietnam on May 18th. The format was always the same: masterclasses and walk-around tastings for around 1,000 guests, including industry professionals and media. The De Stefani, La Gioiosa, Le Rughe, and Villa Sandi wineries were the protagonists of the stages in Oceania while Fantinel, Giusti Wine, La Tordera, Le Contesse, and Val D’Oca joined De Stefani at the event in Vietnam.

The Prosecco DOC Consortium also signed the “Prosecco DOC Lifestyle” project in collaboration with the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (ICHAM). It is a roadshow that crossed the country from north to south to promote the famous Italian sparkling wine to Vietnamese operators and consumers. Under the patronage of the Italian Embassy in Hanoi and the Consulate General of Italy in Ho Chi Minh City, various events were held on May 15 at Casa Italia in Hanoi and on May 17 at the Hyatt Regency in Da Nang City, with three important moments: Prosecco DOC General presentation masterclass with a tasting of 8 wines, walk around tasting, and a final party with live music under the banner of Italian lifestyle.
