Italian food sees great export growth opportunities in Vietnam

The Asian country is increasingly oriented toward healthy, high-quality foods and beverages

The Italian Trade Agency (ITA) reports great opportunities for Italian food&beverage in Vietnam, which is increasingly oriented toward healthy, high-quality foods and beverages. Pasta, olive oil, and wine are the Italian products most present in this Asian country. In 2021, the value of Italian pasta exports to Vietnam exceeded $4 million, an increase of +58.3 percent compared to 2019.

The value of olive oil exported to Vietnam has been increasing rapidly in recent years, with a growth of +46.78 percent in 2020 and +60 percent in 2021. Italy is a supplier country, with a market share of about 41 percent and a value of $2.6 million.

During the same period, with a market share of 24.97 percent, Italy also became the second-largest supplier of wine after France.

ITA is supporting Italian agribusinesses in the Asian country with many initiatives, such as the Food&Hotel Vietnam held in early December,” the Italian Trade Agency says in an official statement.
