Vietnam removes tariffs to 17 products

Many Italian food products protected by Geographical Indications are covered by the free trade agreement between the Asian country and the EU

Vietnam will soon remove customs barriers to 17 Italian food and beverage products protected by Geographical Indications, including Pecorino Romano PDO, Balsamic Vinegar of Modena, Mela Alto Adige, Mortadella di Bologna, and wines such as Chianti, Prosecco, Dolcetto d’Alba and Franciacorta.

All this thanks to the free trade agreement between the European Union and Vietnam, which has just been signed by the European Council and which will be ratified by the Vietnamese parliament at the beginning of next summer. The agreement will serve to combat counterfeiting and reduce customs tariffs, bureaucracy and regulations.
