Sales of Italian cheeses are growing in double figures in several European countries: Poland (+22%), Belgium (+18%), France (+13%), as well as Romania, the Netherlands, Sweden, and Spain. It is the USA, however, that guarantees the greatest satisfaction with growth in sales of +25%, also thanks to the suspension of additional duties introduced by the Trump administration.

Among the most appreciated products is Mascarpone, whose sales increased by +38%, followed by Provolone and Pecorino (both +20%), and Mozzarella (+12%). Exports of Grana Padano PDO and Parmigiano Reggiano PDO increased by +6%. In the United States, there was a great performance by Gorgonzola PDO (+25%).

RISKS IN THE NEAR FUTURE

In addition to the Russian embargo, which has now been in place for seven years, Belarus introduced additional duties two weeks ago, and it is likely Kazakhstan will follow the same path. Another problem could be European regulations, starting with Nutriscore food labeling. Without forgetting the rising costs of energy.
