Just days after showcasing at the Summer Fancy Food Show 2024, the Consortium for the Protection of Prosciutto di Parma PDO is set to return to the United States, participating in the Texas Restaurant Show in San Antonio on July 14 and 15.

This event is a pivotal gathering in the restaurant and out-of-home consumption sectors, where Prosciutto di Parma PDO aims to cement a stronger foothold in the U.S. market.

The Consortium’s strategy includes a partnership initiated in June with Grimaldi’s, a prominent American restaurant chain with over 30 years of history and more than 40 pizzerias across 12 states. Starting in Texas, this year-long collaboration will feature Prosciutto di Parma PDO on the chain’s menu, supported by promotional materials and various training and communication activities.

American consumers are increasingly expressing their appreciation for our product. In 2023, over 720,000 Parma hams were exported to the United States, comprising about a third of our total exports,” said Alessandro Utini, President of the Consortium. “Participating in the Texas Restaurant Show allows us to engage directly with key players in the food service sector, where we plan to enhance our presence.”

At the show, Prosciutto di Parma PDO will join the Consortium for the Protection of Grana Padano PDO under the banner of “Distinctly, Deliciously, European,” a European initiative that underscores the importance of quality, authenticity, and tradition in European culinary excellence.
