Eataly has taken over the management of its Paris Marais location, ending its partnership with Groupe Galeries Lafayette. The move will allow the Italian food hall pioneer to oversee operations directly in France and implement a tailored sales strategy as part of its global expansion plans.
“This step strengthens our position and sets the stage for further growth in France,” said Andrea Cipolloni, Eataly’s Group CEO. “Since opening our first store in 2019, France has been a crucial market for us. Looking ahead, we aim to expand into major airports like Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Paris-Orly, as well as train stations and select urban locations. We are grateful to Galeries Lafayette for their partnership, which helped establish Eataly Paris Marais as both a culinary and cultural landmark.”
Nicolas Houzé, Chairman of Galeries Lafayette, praised the transition: “Eataly is a remarkable concept, well-positioned for further expansion in France. Direct management will inject fresh momentum into the Paris Marais store. We thank the team for their passion and hard work, which have underpinned the store’s success over the past five years, and wish them well in this new phase.”
Strategically located, Eataly Paris Marais has become a staple of the city, drawing 6,000 customers daily. Spanning 2,500 square meters across three floors, it features a market, wine shop, seven restaurants, and two educational spaces.
