For the third consecutive year, Veroni was the official sponsor at the 2024 Mubadala Citi DC Open in Washington, DC. Tennis fans could purchase freshly made sandwiches, salads, and snack trays that all include Veroni’s signature cured meats like prosciutto and salami. This year’s menu was carefully curated to showcase the authentic Italian panino.
Available for purchase throughout the tournament at Veroni food stands: Napoli (prosciutto, mozzarella, arugula, extra virgin olive oil, and balsamic), Milano (salame Milano, salme Calabrese, basil pesto, tomato, provolone, Greens), Calabrese (salame Calabrese, pepperoncino spread, mozzarella, roasted red pepper, greens), and Coppa (Coppa Italiana, tomato, basil, mozzarella).
Plus, traditional charcuterie experiences two varieties of Veroni’s Aperitime, which are designed for 2-3 people to share and snack options. The top three selling items on the opening day of the tennis tournament were the Veroni snack trio, Calabrese, and the Napoli. The Player’s Lounge also features Veroni’s charcuterie, offering tennis players the chance to enjoy an authentic Italian gourmet experience (while also eating a good source of protein). VIP ticket holders throughout the tournament can also enjoy tasting Veroni’s cured meats, where daily a charcuterie board is made available.
VERONI CONTINUES TO SERVE AT TENNIS TOURNAMENTS
Earlier this year, Veroni sponsored Indian Wells in California and the Internazionali BNL d’Italia in Rome, Italy. Later in August, Veroni traveled to Ohio as the Cincinnati Open’s Official Sponsor for the third year in a row. In Cincinnati, Veroni’s presence doubled with larger brand exposure, VIP Veroni Lounge, and more opportunities for fans to purchase food products. Veroni is also expanding its footprint with another popular racquet sport- Pickleball. The company will be in Dallas, Texas, in November for the Pickleball Tour.
VERONI ATTENDS FOOD FESTIVALS
“This season, our schedule is busier than ever, and our involvement in these sporting events not only boosts our exposure but also strengthens our position as a leading Italian Aperitivo brand.” Emanuela Bigi, Veroni’s marketing manager, said in a press release that besides being present at major tennis tournaments, Veroni will also attend major food festivals throughout the country such as the Atlanta Food and Wine Festival in September. And the Boston Taste event in November.
DELI AND CHARCUTERIE TRENDS IN THE U.S.
According to Circana’s 2024 food and beverage outlook, the deli aisle and convenient grab-and-go options will likely continue driving sales as consumers prioritize meal options that address diverse needs. Last year, the National Restaurant Association predicted charcuterie to be one of the top three menu items.
Veroni imports 100% Italian-made cured meats into the US. To preserve flavor and aroma, all cured meats are sliced and packaged at the local facility. Veroni offers over 40 products available in supermarkets and grocery stores nationwide.
