Alice Pizza announced a second opening in Hong Kong, on the iconic corner of Cochrane Street, Central. “This new opening consolidates our partnership with Bluebell Group, a leader in the distribution of luxury and lifestyle brands in Asia, which began in 2023 with the opening of the first Alice Pizza in Hong Kong in the Wan Chai district,” said the restaurant chain in an official statement.
The ambition is to make Alice Pizza a global brand, and Asia plays a key role in this process. The pizzeria chain’s goal is to “bring to the Asian continent the culture and tradition of the Roman-style pizza.” This is achieved by using mostly imported ingredients from Italy and having trainers from the Alice Pizza Academy train the Hong Kong pizza chefs directly on-site.
In the new pizzeria in Hong Kong, pizza lovers can taste over 30 recipes, all 100% Made in Italy. Claudio Baitelli, CEO & General Manager at Alice Pizza, says, “It’s an inspiring journey to try to realize our dream of making Alice a global brand: honestly, we’re only just getting started. In the last two years, the team has done a tremendous job, we have improved a lot but we know there are still so many things to learn.”
According to Alice Pizza’s CEO, the Asian market boasts huge potential for Italian food, even if “there is a thousand-year-old food culture to respect, they are used to eating well and have a lot of experience and skills in the retail industry. Having strong local partners and trusting each other is essential. Most importantly: Asian people like pizza al taglio, it has been plug and play…I see, I try it, I like it, there’s no need for explanations.”
