The Prosciutto di Parma PDO Consortium is set to take center stage at the 2024 Summer Fancy Food Show in New York from June 23-25. This premier event for the food and beverage industry on the US East Coast remains a pivotal engagement for the Consortium, which will once again host an institutional stand featuring representatives from numerous member companies.
“The United States is our primary export market after Italy, accounting for nearly a third of our total export volume in 2023,” says Alessandro Utini, President of the Prosciutto di Parma PDO Consortium. “Our promotional efforts in the US span various segments, including out-of-home consumption, where we are forging significant collaborations. In this context, our presence at the Summer Fancy Food Show is crucial, allowing us to network and engage in productive exchanges with industry professionals.”
In 2023, Prosciutto di Parma PDO exports generated over €280 million in revenue, with approximately 2,450,000 hams shipped to international markets. Of these, over 720,000 were sold in the US, underscoring the country’s strong appreciation for this hallmark of Italian gastronomy.
