Italian winery Mionetto has clinched a coveted accolade in the lucrative U.S. market, a pivotal arena for the company’s global standing. Mionetto has secured a spot on Wine Spectator‘s prestigious list of the top 100 wines, courtesy of its Mionetto Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG Luxury Collection.
Standing alone as the sole 2023 Prosecco entrant, Mionetto’s exclusive label has ascended to the 51st position, boasting a score of 90 points. Wine Spectator’s connoisseurs have lauded the Mionetto Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG Luxury Collection as “a poised Prosecco, distinguished by an exotic interplay of jasmine, ground cardamom, and turmeric weaving through layers of red orange granita, melon, lime, and mineral undertones.”
Alessio Del Savio, Mionetto’s Technical Director, Winemaker, and Management Board Spokesman, underscores the achievement: “This reaffirms Mionetto’s unwavering commitment to quality – an outcome of both internal research and the invaluable rapport cultivated over the years with the small-scale grapes contributors of the DOCG. Through a meticulously nurtured partnership, we ensure a product of unparalleled quality, one that seamlessly translates from the sparkling process to the bottle.”
Enore Ceola, CEO and Managing Director of Freixenet Mionetto USA, adds perspective to the significance of this milestone during Mionetto USA’s 25th anniversary in New York: “Mionetto now stands as the Prosecco brand with the highest-ever rating in the history of the Top 100, marking the third Prosecco inclusion since 1988.”
