Inalpi obtains a 90 million loan for its 2021-2025 development plan

Making the dairy chain more efficient through the development of Inalpi’s 2021-2025 business plan. This is the goal of the 90 million euro operation backed by a SACE (the Italian public company specialized in the insurance-financial sector) guarantee thanks to the resources of three banks: Intesa Sanpaolo, Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP), and Banco BPM (BPM).

Founded in 1966 in Piedmont, Inalpi is today a leading player in the Italian dairy market. Moreover, it plays an important role thanks to the creation of a short and certified milk supply chain implemented through the synergies developed over the years with Compral Latte Cooperative, Ferrero Group (Inalpi’s main client), and with the support of the Italian farmers’ association Coldiretti. Thanks to this local network, the group also maintains a strong regional identity.

THE BUSINESS PLAN

The operation is made of two medium/long-term loans. The first one (for €49.2 million) to support new investments envisaged in the company’s 2021-2025 business plan and related to the construction of new plants; the second one (for €40.4 million) will be used to partially refinance the company’s financial debt and new investments for Inalpi’s growth in Italy. In addition, the transaction provides for a “green facility” guaranteed by SACE as part of the new operation provided for by the European Green New Deal.

In fact, the effects of the operation will translate into a doubling of the collection of raw materials, an increase in the number of players in the supply chain, and a consequent boost to the economy of the territory. Inalpi’s goal is to develop a model of recovery and reuse of energy and water sources that will be a driving force in the path towards sustainability, undertaken by the Piedmontese company also through the sharing of the goals of the UN 2030 Agenda. The project also provides for the creation of the new labs within the InLab Solution R&D center for the innovation and enhancement of raw materials.

This is the time to dare, and to remember that being an entrepreneur means assuming responsibilities that contribute to the creation of the future of one’s own land,” said Ambrogio Invernizzi, president of Inalpi. “But it’s also time to understand the importance of how this future must be built together, being aware that we can’t go far alone, and that the roots of growth lie in the awareness and ability to know how to work as a team, sharing goals and values”.

THE SUPPLY CHAIN

Raffaele Tortalla and Bartolomeo Bovetti, president and director of Compral Latte, respectively, said, “Telling the experience of the Inalpi – Compral Latte supply chain means opening a new chapter on how to achieve a modern relationship with the industrial world by sharing the same goals. Working together means building a symbiotic relationship between the various production phases. This is the most significant aspect, as it generates value both for those involved in the supply chain and for consumers whose expectations in terms of quality, environmental, and social sustainability are fulfilled”.
