DalterFood Group sales grow in the year of the pandemic

DalterFood Group – the Italian leading company specializing in the production of portioned and grated Parmigiano Reggiano PDO – was able to continue on its growth path in 2020 despite the pandemic, with an annual increase of +2.8% in consolidated sales which exceeded 111 million euros.

We are satisfied with the results achieved in 2020 and how we were able to react to such an unexpected and complex global context” – says the president of DalterFood, Stefano Ricotti. “Thanks to our already consolidated presence on various channels and the proposal of innovative formats, such as single-dose, we were able to face a period full of unknowns in the best possible way. We managed to offset the expected decline in the Ho.Re.Ca. channel with good performance in other channels. At the same time, we continued to pursue the projects already launched in 2019 achieving important results about internationalization, certification, sustainability and digitalization” – Ricotti says.

EXPORT DATA

An export-oriented food company, in 2020 DalterFood achieved 76% of its turnover abroad. Especially in top markets such as Germany, the UK, France, and Spain. Good news came from the United States too: just in 2020 the Italian company landed in this large market, thanks to a new supply contract with good growth prospects also for 2021. DalterFood has also obtained FDA and FSMA certifications, fundamental for exports in the American market.

CERTIFICATIONS

In addition to the renewal of BRC and IFS certifications at the highest level, last year DalterFood obtained also Smeta 4Pillars ethical certification – which verifies ethical commitments in four areas: health and safety, work, environment and ethics – as well as certification for animal welfare and UNI EN ISO 22005:2008 certification for traceability in the agri-food supply chain. Particularly important was also the achievement of the Industry 4.0 certification for the entire group, which demonstrates the technological and digital transformation of the company’s production processes.

INVESTMENTS

Other investments were aimed at the high-quality Parmigiano Reggiano PDO production chain, as part of a project started more than 10 years ago which led to a total investment of more than 5 million euros in two dairies. The production capacity expanded combining cutting-edge technologies with the traditional production techniques of Parmigiano Reggiano PDO, making the entire production process more efficient and controlled.
