Sperlari acquires Dulcioliva

Two historic Italian confectionery specialty companies merge. The acquisition offers opportunities in the domestic and international markets
Sperlari acquires Dulcioliva

Following its growth path Italy’s confectionery company Sperlari acquires the majority of Dulcioliva, a historical company from Piedmont with almost 100 years of experience in chocolate specialties. Sperlari will now be able to count on a wide portfolio of chocolate specialties of the best Italian tradition. Dulcioliva is in fact the world leader in Cuneesi sweets, alongside other specialties such as truffles, gianduiotti, pralines, spreadable creams, chocolate bars, and much more.

Dulcioliva also combines the best recipes of Italian tradition with the most modern production technology, to create authentic products in full compliance with the most advanced principles of product quality. “This partnership – says Piergiorgio Burei, CEO of Sperlari (in the picture above) – will offer new opportunities for development both in Italy and abroad, in order to be even closer to consumers and meet their needs for taste and quality.”

SPERLARI AND DULCIOLIVA IN THE NAME OF TRADITION

Founded in 1924, Dulcioliva boasts a turnover of more than 8 million euros more than 30% of which is generated abroad in over 22 countries. This will offer further opportunities for synergy with Sperlari on various markets in Europe, North America, and Asia. Based in Borgo San Dalmazzo, in the province of Cuneo, today Dulcioliva has a modern plant of 3000 square meters, equipped with cutting-edge technology.

The decision to work together with Sperlari is a choice we made with enthusiasm – says Giuseppe Oliva, grandson of one of the founders of Dulcioliva – because it became immediately clear how similar the two companies are in terms of values and portfolio. To give an example, it has been a long time since our company decided not to use artificial additives, preservatives, hydrogenated vegetable fats and animal fats other than cocoa butter.”
