The health emergency has inevitably had an impact on Speck Alto Adige PGI. In the last year production dropped by -4.4%, equal to 2,802,310 packages. However, the latest annual meeting of the Consortium, which elected David Recla as president, also revealed some positive data. Starting with the market share, which is stable at 41.2%. “Speck Alto Adige PGI – says David Reclais a unique product that embodies the values of our territory. According yo the data, consumers are increasingly rewarding this kind of products. Despite the current scenario, we are very confident about the future.”

SALES CHANNELS

The main commercial outlet for Speck Alto Adige PGI is still the Italian market, which accounts for a sales share of 66.5%, growing by +2% compared to 2019. In the front row come the northern regions of Italy, but demand from southern regions continues to grow. In terms of channels, large-scale distribution leads with a market share of 68.5%, followed by discount stores (17%), wholesalers (5.4%), retail (4.3%), and specialty stores (2.2%).

EXPORT SALES

The foreign market accounts for 33.5% of total sales. The best results come from Germany, whose market share rose to 28% (it was 26% in 2019), and from the USA (1.7%). Then come France (1.4%), Austria (0.9%), and Switzerland (0.7%).
