On the sidelines of Cibus Forum 2020, Italianfood.net interviewed Giovanni Cafiero, Communication manager of Pasta di Gragnano PGI’s protection Consortium, to know more about the first Italian pasta to be awarded the European quality indication.

Pasta di Gragnano PGI is one of the most successful products in terms of production value among the 300 PDO and PGI Italian food & beverage products. According to the latest Qualivita-Ismea report, the turnover generated by this product – a symbol of Campania and Italian food culture – reached 186 million euros, growing by more than 62 per cent.

Pasta di Gragnano PGI is made only in the area of Gragnano (Naples) with top quality durum wheat semolina mixed with spring water from the Lattari mountains, extruded through a bronze die and slowly dried.
