IDDBA: Italian food perfect fit for US deli market

From an olive bar to the my pie pizza counter, Italian products were on beautiful display at the trade show organized in New Orleans by the International Dairy Deli Bakery Association (IDDBA). As American consumer demand for happy hour snacks grows, the organizers put the spotlight on visual and cross merchandising to mix products, suggest recipe ideas and interact with buyers. The concept was named Show and Sell and worked as a grocery store at the center of the show where exhibitors could present their products, have them prepared by chefs and make them available for consumption. Category products were mixed for creative pairing and suggestions. In this video for Italianfood.net, Jonathan Whaley from IDDBA shows the innovative show concept and speaks about the main trends in the deli, dairy and bakery industry.
