Italy ranks among top Food and Beverage exporters to Brazil

Italy ranks as Brazil’s second-largest European supplier of food and beverages, trailing only Portugal. In the last few years, Brazil has emerged as the third-largest market in the Americas, following the United States and Canada.

In the first five months of 2024, Italian food and beverage exports to Brazil reached $157.1 million, a 5.3% increase from the same period last year, according to the Italian Trade Agency.

Italy’s success in Brazil is bolstered by significant growth in key sectors in 2023: pasta and bakery products surged by 32.8%, fresh apples by 115.5%, wine by 4.4%, olive oil by 10.5%, and tomatoes and preserved goods by 50.4%.

The Italian Trade Agency showcased the flavors of Made-in-Italy food and beverages at the 38th edition of Apas Show, Latin America’s largest supermarket trade event. Held in São Paulo last May, the event drew around 140,000 visitors from Brazil and neighboring countries.
