On the occasion of Carbonara Day 2021, Barilla, the leading Italian dry pasta company, is launching a short film to reveal the fascinating story dedicated to the origins of the world’s number one pasta recipe. Legend has it that Carbonara pasta recipe was born from the union of different cultures. In fact, in the 1940s a young American soldier and an Italian chef met in Rome and came up with the idea of combining American bacon, Italian pasta and eggs to feed the troops, resulting in the most beloved and controversial pasta dish ever.
Barilla was inspired by this version of the story and decided to put it at the center of this year’s Carbonara Day, thus transforming Carbonara into “Carebonara”, the ideal recipe for taking care of the people around us.
