Prosciutto Toscano PDO, along with Pecorino Toscano PDO, Finocchiona PGI, and Olio Toscano PGI, will take center stage during Restaurant Week, celebrating the culinary heritage of Tuscany.

After the success of its inaugural edition in Berlin, the second Restaurant Week is set to unfold in Hamburg from today until November 10, 2024. Participating restaurants will curate special menus featuring these four distinguished products.

Gusto, a three-year European initiative launched in June 2023, unites Prosciutto Toscano PDO Consortium with the protection Consortia of Pecorino Toscano PDO, Olio Toscano PGI, and Finocchiona PGI in promotional activities aimed at both Italian and German audiences.

These efforts will continue in November, highlighted by a visit from a select group of German food journalists to the production facilities of Prosciutto Toscano PDO. This initiative aims to provide an intimate understanding of the production process in the areas where this culinary excellence originates.

For our Consortium, engaging in initiatives that focus on the German market is crucial,” states Fabio Viani, President of the Prosciutto Toscano PDO Consortium. “With Hamburg’s Restaurant Week, German consumers will have the chance to experience these four products directly through tastings and bespoke recipes. Furthermore, the upcoming visit of the German press to Italy, along with a series of targeted activities for food operators, will enable us to strengthen our presence in our primary export destination.”
