The allure of Italian gastronomy made its mark in Vietnam as the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) orchestrated the presence of 16 Italian F&B companies at the Food & Hotel Vietnam 2024 event in Ho Chi Minh City—a pivotal rendezvous for the gastronomic and hospitality sectors across Southeast Asia. Among the guests gracing the Italian Pavilion was Italy’s Ambassador to Vietnam, Marco Della Seta.
Given its advantageous geographical, economic, and commercial positioning, Vietnam solidifies its status as a lucrative market for Italian enterprises, underscoring its pivotal role as a strategic gateway within the Southeast Asian landscape.
In recent years, exports of Italian agri-food products to Vietnam have surged significantly, escalating from €70 million in 2020 to €119 million in 2022—an impressive 55% increase compared to the previous year. The latest figures from ISTAT, as of May 2023, reveal Italian food and beverage exports totaling approximately €40 million for the initial four months of last year.
