Once again, Salumi Piacentini PDO took the spotlight in 35 selected restaurants across German cities, including Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Munich, and Cologne. This initiative unfolded as part of the Week of the Italian Cuisine in the World, an annual thematic exposition dedicated to showcasing and promoting premium Italian gastronomy and agri-food products.
Participating establishments featured an exclusive appetizer, featuring Coppa Piacentina PDO, Salame Piacentino PDO, and Pancetta Piacentina PDO. These renowned products served as culinary ambassadors, elevating the gastronomic profile of the city of the Emilian city of Piacenza.
Roberto Belli, Director of the Consortium for the Protection of Salumi Piacentini PDO, emphasized, “Direct engagement with restaurateurs, including detailed tutorials on optimal slicing and presentation, coupled with essential information on the distinct characteristics of our PDO cured meats, guided consumers on an experiential journey.”
The official launch of the tasting week took place at the ‘Lettinis’ Italian specialty store in Düsseldorf, drawing the attention of German enogastronomic press journalists, food bloggers, and connoisseurs of Italian cuisine. The event featured a curated tasting, providing attendees with an immersive exploration of the qualities that define the gastronomic excellence of Salumi Piacentini PDO.
