The 2022 edition of the International Cheese & Dairy Awards, a prestigious competition reserved for dairy producers that annually awards the world’s best cheeses, has been held in Staffordshire County, England. Among more than 4,500 participants, cheeses from the Italian company Arrigoni Battista renewed the success achieved in previous editions by winning six medals – two Gold, one Silver, and three Bronze – awarded to three PDO kinds of cheese made by the Bergamo-based company: Taleggio PDO, Gorgonzola PDO Dolce, and Gorgonzola PDO Piccante.
Taleggio PDO was confirmed gold medalist as “Best Italian Cheese – Semi-Soft,” an award already won in the last edition, in addition to a bronze medal. Gold also for Gorgonzola PDO Piccante in the “Best Italian Cheese – Gorgonzola” category, in addition to a bronze medal. Finally, Gorgonzola PDO Dolce won two medals, a Silver and a Bronze, the latter as “Best Italian Cheese – Gorgonzola.”
Arrigoni Battista’s awards set thus reaches 72 medals, won in the most prestigious international competitions, confirming the company as one of the leaders of Made in Italy in dairy exports, mainly thanks to a complete supply chain and a wide range of products. Arrigoni Battista cheeses participated in the International Cheese & Dairy Awards 2022 through Bradbury importer.
ARRIGONI BATTISTA HISTORY
The Arrigoni Battista dairy was founded in Pagazzano (Bergamo) and has been operating in the Bergamo area since 1914. Here, from generation to generation it has built an integrated supply chain based on tradition and innovation, on the protection of the land and the final product, but also on constant research and development.
The company has always been family-owned, and today it is led by the fourth generation represented by President Marco Arrigoni, with the valuable work of more than 100 employees. Arrigoni Battista exports its products to more than 40 countries and has achieved important successes over the years, including several medals at prestigious international contests such as the World Cheese Awards, and the recognition of its Gorgonzola for spooning as “Best Italian Soft Cheese” at the International Cheese Awards 2019 in Nantwich (UK).
