Santa Margherita debuts a new category Rosé

The Rosé is the latest addition from the Santa Margherita brand that includes Prosecco Superiore Di Valdobbiadene DOCG and Pinot Grigio, as well as its Sparkling Rosé, and Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG. All the wines are grown, harvested, and produced in Italy. The aromas of strawberries and pink grapefruit offers a refreshing palate. The wine honors the Trevenezie region. It is sustainable and vegan-friendly produced only using natural products.

Rosé isn’t just for warm months or as the saying goes, “Rosé all Day”. Instead, Santa Margherita believes their new wine can help fans enjoy Rosé all Year according to a recent survey that found 82% of people disagree with that mindset that rosé is strictly to be consumed during warmer weather.

ROSÉ, AN EVOLVING CCTEGORY

The rosé category has evolved over the years. Sparkling wines, French brands, and premiumisation are driving rosé sales according to a rosé consumer forecast report by BevAlc Insights. Drizly, North America’s largest ecommerce alcohol marketplace, publishes BevAlc Insights. Liz Paquette, Drizly’s head of consumer insights says, “Share growth for sparkling rosé was particularly strong during the past year, benefiting from the overall surge in Champagne and sparkling wine sales that we saw in 2021.” Italian rosé as a category has held steady at three percent share of rosé sales by country, according to the report.

Italianfood.net asked Santa Margherita how this rosé competes with rosé from France. “This is Rosé, Santa Margherita’s way. It’s a tribute to the Marzotto family’s beloved Venetian region, and the wine is appealing and unique. The Chardonnay is from the mountainous area of Trentino, the Sauvignon Blanc is grown near the warm shores of the Adriatic Sea, and there is a touch of Venetian Pinot Nero. The region this wine hails from has a long history of producing top-quality wines.”

Consumers can soon find the rosé at their favorite retail store soon. Santa Margherita USA is an import wine company representing over ten world-renowned wineries throughout the United States, including Santa Margherita, Ca’ del Bosco, Masi, Kettmeir, Lamole di Lamole, Sassoregale, Torresella, Feudo Zirtari, Fattoria Sardi, Cà Maiol, and Cantina Mesa.

Santa Marhgerita Gruppo Vinicolo was founded in 1935 by Count Gaetano Marzotto. Today the company is operated by four brothers, the third generation of the Marzotto family. Earlier this year, Santa Margherita USA, the wholly-owned subsidiary of Santa Margherita Gruppo Vinicolo, announced it acquired majority ownership of ROCO Winery in Oregon.
