According to market rumors the merger between Parmareggio and Agriform (a company based in Sommacampagna – Verona – whose main business area is private labels), two of the main Italian companies in the hard cheeses market, will be concluded shortly. The new company will have a turnover of about 580 million euros, 170 million of which coming from exports.
The product portfolio will include a large share of the two main Italian PDO cheeses. On the one hand Parmigiano Reggiano PDO, Parmareggio’s core business, declined in several variants and occasions of use from grated to snack according to the winning strategy adopted by the Bonterre Group company. On the other hand there is Grana Padano PDO, which represents about 65% of Agriform’s sales.
