Coronavirus, Eataly draws its safe shopping manifesto

Starting from its USA premises, Eataly food hall has drawn a ‘safe shopping manifesto’ to deal with coronavirus pandemic.

Following the new regulations from the governments, and the new recommendations from the CDC – says Dino Borri from Eataly North AmericaEataly NYC Flatiron, Eataly NYC Downtown, Eataly Boston, Eataly Chicago, Eataly Los Angeles, and Eataly Toronto‘s restaurants, food counters and La Scuola are closing their doors until further notice. For the daily grocery needs and to support our employees and our communities, our Markets (grocery and fresh counters, including fresh pasta, butcher, fishmonger, bakery, and produce) will remain open every day (hours vary depending on the store). To ensure the health and safety of our employees, customers, and community as a whole, we’ve implemented extra measures to assure social distancing and sanitation of our store” Mr Borri says.

EATALY MANIFESTO TO PROTECT ITS COMMUNITY FROM CORONAVIRUS

Eataly’s safe shopping manifesto includes:

  • Solo Shopping. “Please shop on your own so as to limit the number of people in the store at any given time. This will protect your friends and family, too”;
  • Hand sanitizing. “As you walk into Eataly, please use the hand sanitizer that we have placed near entrances and bathrooms”;
  • Social distancing. “Keep a safe distance between yourself, our employees, and other guests. We have laid down visual cues to help”;
  • Face Masks. “If you are wearing a face mask, please keep it on as you address our team members. If you need to remove it, remember to use the strings – don’t touch the mask itself”;
  • No eating and drinking inside the store. “We ask that you not eat or drink in the store while you are shopping. Crumbs and spills will make it harder for us to keep Eataly clean and sanitized.”
