In 2017, German imports of cheese and dairies amounted to 3.7 billion euros. The Netherlands was again the main supplier country. Then came France and Italy, with a total value of goods exported to the German market of 717 million euros (market share of 19.0%) and 408 million euros (market share of 10.8%) respectively, according to Italian Trade Agency and Global Trade Atlas.
DAIRIES TREND CONFIRMED IN 2018
The new data, updated to March 2018, confirm this trend for the first quarter of 2018 (1st Netherlands, 2nd France, 3rd Italy). Moreover, they show a significant increase in German imports from Italy compared to the previous year (+ 19.74%) for a total value of about 108 million euros (January-March 2018).
