Sial 2018 is ready to unveil itself

For the international food&beverage business community, the ‘Salon International de l’Alimentation’ (Sial) in Paris is the unmissable event of next autumn. As usual, it will take place at the Paris Nord Villepinte exhibition site, from October 21st to 25th. The novelties and numbers of the Paris show were presented by Nicolas Trenteseaux, Director of Sial Group, during a press conference held at Fico Eataly World in Bologna.

Sold out

Sial 2018 is almost sold out. Nine months before the opening, about 90% of the area is reserved and over 80 countries have already confirmed their presence. The goal is to improve the results of the 2016 edition, which registered over 7,000 exhibitors from 109 countries (85% international, same percentage of small and medium-sized enterprises), and 160,000 visitors from 194 countries (70% international, over 2,600 journalists). Italy is a very important country for Sial. We admire the dynamism of the Italian food industry – said Mr. Trenteseauxand its ability to meet the trends and eating habits all over the world. Obviously, Italy will once again be a protagonist, confirming itself as second exhibitor country after France. We count on at least 800 Italian companies. By now, +30% compared to the same period of 2016.

Innovations

Sial 2018 presents several innovations, starting with the new Alternative Food sector which will bring together organic, healthy, and sustainable products. The fair will also offer a space for round-tables and conferences, and it will also provide guided tours. As usual, there will be a tech zone to allow micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises to present their technologies and equipment. Finally, a perspective space will be presented that brings together European start-ups, world studies, and experiential spaces dedicated to food industry prospects in the coming years. Sial Innovation will reveal global food trends, with over 2,500 new products and excellent cuisine. The ‘godfather’ of Sial 2018 will be the three-star chef Yannick Alléno. For food business operators, coming to Sial Paris means discovering opportunities for growth and decoding new trends, taking advantage of a formidable mean to achieve ambitious goals. Sial Paris allows visitors to test new markets, launch new products, and meet key industry players to discuss the challenges of the future. It is also a useful laboratory: R&D offices around the world finalize their innovations in order to test them within this trade showNicolas Trentesaux stated.
