At the 2025 edition of the Mondial du Fromage et des Produits Laitiers in Tours, France, one of the most important competitions in the international dairy industry, Italy’s Caseificio Il Fiorino once again took center stage. The Maremma-based company secured seven medals, a significant contribution to Italy’s overall 56 awards in this year’s edition.
With this latest achievement, Il Fiorino enriches a record that now counts hundreds of international recognitions, reaffirming Maremma’s ability to produce world-class dairy excellence.
THE AWARDED CHEESES
The jury awarded silver medals to three of Il Fiorino’s cornerstones: Grotta del Fiorini, Riserva del Fondatore Special Edition, and Pecorino Toscano PDO Stagionato.
In addition, four bronze medals were earned by cheeses that have established themselves as true ambassadors of the Maremma: Cacio di Caterina, Cacio di Afrodite, Riserva del Fondatore, and Cacio Nero.
Success at the Mondial du Fromage highlights a defining feature of Il Fiorino’s history: continuity. Winning on the global stage is never simple; achieving it consistently, in the most prestigious international competitions, proves the strength of the company’s production model.

Since 1957, Il Fiorino has remained loyal to its founding values: milk of the highest quality from Maremma herds, artisanal methods at every stage, daily dedication, passion, and the ability to innovate without betraying tradition. From Roccalbegna, a small Tuscan village at the foot of Mount Amiata, the company continues to share its cheeses with the world, combining natural processes, meticulous care, and an international outlook.
“Every medal tells a story that goes beyond cheese,” emphasized Angela Fiorini, who runs the company together with her husband, Simone Sargentoni. “Behind it, there is our land, the Maremma, with its pastures and its strength. There is our team, which every day brings passion and attention to every phase of production. Winning in France, among the great cheeses of the world, is never a given: it is a great joy and a recognition that pushes us to continue with consistency and courage.
Il Fiorino was born in a small village, yet today it manages to make itself heard in the most important competitions. This both excites us and gives us a sense of responsibility. We will continue to do what we know best: producing cheeses that express the beauty and quality of a unique territory.”
