Pinsami concluded a highly successful participation at Pizza Expo 2025, the world’s largest trade show for the pizza and baked goods industry, which recently wrapped up in Las Vegas with strong attendance. Already a leader in Italy’s premium pinsa base category and recognized by the Financial Times as one of Europe’s fastest-growing companies, the Emilia-based firm is intensifying its focus on international expansion, with the U.S. emerging as a key strategic market.
The company’s presence at this flagship industry event generated strong interest from buyers and visitors, welcomed by Michele Tremolini, Sales Manager for North America. His recent appointment and Pinsami’s participation in the Pizza Expo fair underscore the firm’s commitment to investing in its fast-growing export division.
“Our growth strategy places international expansion at the forefront of our long-term vision. Since our founding in 2017, we have established a presence in 37 countries and have already made inroads into the U.S. market, particularly within the Horeca sector. However, we see significant untapped potential in both food service and retail,” said Mauro Dalle Vacche, CEO and Commercial Director of Pinsami.
RAPID EXPANSION IN GLOBAL MARKETS
Alongside consolidating its leadership in Italy—where it holds a 14.3% market share by value (source: NIQ)—Pinsami has seen exceptional growth in international markets. In 2023, export sales surged by 125% year-on-year, accounting for 55% of total revenue. In 2024, export sales contributed 70% of the company’s turnover, reinforcing the strategic importance of global expansion.
PINSAMI SCALING UP FOR THE U.S. MARKET
“Pizza Expo was a pivotal moment for Pinsami, and the overwhelmingly positive reception confirmed that our pinsa is well-suited for the U.S. market. American consumers appreciate authentic Italian products, and there is strong demand for offerings that combine premium quality with operational efficiency,” said Tremolini. “Pinsami meets these needs by enabling food service operators to serve a high-quality Italian product while reducing the expertise and labor costs typically required for a specialized pinsaiolo.”
At Pizza Expo, Pinsami showcased its “frozen line,” a range of pre-cooked pinsa bases with an extended shelf life designed for overseas markets. The company also introduced its Premium Frozen Margherita Pinsa, now available in the U.S.—a ready-to-bake product featuring 100% Italian tomato and mozzarella, balancing convenience with authenticity.
“Our mission is to celebrate Italy’s culinary heritage by delivering high-quality, practical, and health-conscious products to tables worldwide,” said Fabio Grillo, CEO of Pinsami. “Having established a strong presence in Italy and Europe, we are now taking decisive steps to expand in the U.S., positioning ourselves as the go-to partner for food service professionals and major retail buyers.”
