L’Antica Pizzeria Da Michele is strengthening its presence in Egypt with the opening of a second restaurant in Sharm el-Sheikh, marking a new milestone in the group’s global expansion strategy.

The new venue officially opened on Saturday, April 4, just months after the debut of its first location in Naama Bay, which quickly gained traction among the resort city’s international clientele. The brand, long associated with authentic Neapolitan pizza tradition, is positioning itself as a key player in the Red Sea’s premium dining scene.

BUILDING ON NAAMA BAY’S SUCCESS

The Naama Bay restaurant set the foundation for this expansion. Located in a lively pedestrian area, it rapidly became a go-to destination for tourists and residents. Featuring a spacious outdoor terrace alongside refined, air-conditioned interiors, the venue successfully blended traditional Neapolitan hospitality with the cosmopolitan atmosphere of Sharm el-Sheikh. Encouraged by strong market reception, the company moved swiftly to replicate—and scale—its success.

A STRATEGIC SECOND OPENING IN OLD SHARM

The second location, situated in Old Sharm, aims to elevate the brand’s offering further. The new space is designed to deliver a more comprehensive dining experience while maintaining the core identity that has defined Da Michele since its founding in Naples in 1870. Across both venues, the centerpiece remains the iconic “pizza a ruota di carro,” prepared according to the original recipe from the historic Via Sersale location. At the same time, the menu has been expanded to reflect the local context, featuring a broader range of pizzas made with premium ingredients sourced from Campania, alongside a curated selection of first and second courses based on fresh Red Sea seafood.

With the opening of our second location in Sharm el-Sheikh, we continue our global expansion journey by bringing the L’Antica Pizzeria Da Michele brand to key international tourism destinations,” said Alessandro Condurro, Director of L’Antica Pizzeria Da Michele in the World. “Our mission remains to export authentic Neapolitan pizza while preserving the original recipe passed down through generations, within a dynamic and multicultural environment such as Egypt.”

This new challenge, following Naama Bay, is particularly exciting for us,” added Francesco De Luca, Director of the international division. “We have selected a central and prestigious location to offer residents and tourists not only our pizza but a complete culinary experience that includes seafood specialties, in a setting that blends Neapolitan hospitality with the unique charm of the Red Sea.”
