Italian artisan bakery I Macoritti has officially entered the U.S. warehouse retail channel, debuting its Mini Breadsticks with Parmigiano Reggiano at Costco Wholesale locations throughout Northern California.
The announcement was made by Export manager Claudio Bettini, who confirmed that the company’s Made-in-Italy grissini are now available across Costco warehouses in the region, including the Bay Area. “After months of preparation, tastings, planning, and teamwork between Italy and the US, our Italian grissini are officially in Costco warehouses across Northern CA,” Bettini stated.
The launch is a significant milestone for the family-owned bakery, which traces its origins back to 1961 in Friuli. What began as a small Italian bakery has now secured shelf space in one of the world’s most influential retail chains. “For a family bakery that began in 1961, this is a moment that carries real emotion,” Bettini said. “Walking into the aisle and seeing our breadsticks is something we are deeply proud of.”
The product introduced to U.S. consumers is the Mini Breadsticks with Parmigiano Reggiano, positioned to meet growing demand for authentic European bakery products made with clean ingredients. Early performance indicators suggest a positive market reception. “What makes it even more meaningful is the early response from shoppers,” Bettini added. “In just the first days, we’ve seen strong interest from consumers choosing clean ingredients, authentic flavor, and products they feel good bringing home.”
The company views the Northern California rollout as a strategic entry point into the broader U.S. market. The Bay Area, known for its discerning consumer base and appetite for premium imported foods, provides fertile ground for artisanal Italian products. “This is what continues to drive us — baking every day with care, staying true to our roots, and bringing a piece of Italy to more tables,” Bettini concluded. With distribution now established in Northern California, I Macoritti signals that further expansion may be on the horizon. “We’re excited for what comes next,” Bettini said.
