Italy’s Certified Origins, a leading international player in the food industry and a trusted partner for private label programs of major global supermarket chains, has announced the acquisition of Caro Nut, a U.S.-based company specializing in the production of nut-based spreads and snacks.
With this move, the Tuscan group expands its portfolio of private label products and further strengthens its presence in both American and global markets, where it has been a key supplier of extra virgin olive oil and traceable, certified, high-quality foods for over a decade.
The integration of Caro Nut will allow Certified Origins to operate three production facilities—two in the United States and one in Italy—supported by a team of over 200 food industry specialists. According to the company, this acquisition will enhance production capacity and flexibility, shorten response times to clients, and accelerate the development of innovative projects tailored for leading global retailers.
“We believe that people’s well-being begins with what they eat: food that is good, genuine, and sustainable,” said Giovanni Quaratesi (pictured), Head of Corporate Global Affairs at Certified Origins. “This acquisition is an important step in our growth journey and in our mission to promote a food model based on quality, transparency, and respect—for those who produce and for those who choose our products. Together with Caro Nut, we share values and expertise that will allow us to bring the best of our experience into new markets and to grow in a rapidly expanding sector, creating new development opportunities for our group and our partners.”
The global nut products market, valued at over $12 billion in 2024, is projected to reach $16.5 billion by 2030, according to industry estimates. In North America, the segment was worth around $3 billion in 2024 and is expected to grow to $4.89 billion by 2033.
Certified Origins’ entry into this dynamic sector is a strategic opportunity to diversify its product offering and consolidate its leadership in private-label manufacturing. The Italian company also reaffirms its commitment to enhancing quality and value in the private label segment, aiming to make authentic, healthy, and sustainable foods accessible to an ever-growing number of consumers worldwide.
