Mozzarella di Bufala Campana PDO is set to star in the 2024 “Italian Cuisine Week Around the World,” running from November 16 to 22. This year’s theme, “Mediterranean Diet and the Cuisine of Roots: Health and Tradition,” will spotlight buffalo mozzarella in global events.
The Consortium for the Protection of Mozzarella di Bufala Campana PDO will head to New York to join events organized by the Italian Trade Agency (ITA). Consortium director Pier Maria Saccani (pictured together with Mariangela Zappia, Italian Ambassador to the United States of America) will speak at the “Mediterranean Diet and the Recipes from Our Roots: Health & Tradition” conference on November 21 at the ITA’s New York headquarters, discussing the future of the Mediterranean Diet—a culinary tradition in which Mozzarella di Bufala Campana PDO plays a defining role.
Additional stops are planned in Oslo and Tbilisi. From November 19 to 21, buffalo mozzarella will be showcased in Oslo through cooking demonstrations and tastings at the Italian Cultural Institute, in partnership with the Italian Embassy and the Campania Region. Consortium president Domenico Raimondo will arrive in Tbilisi on November 20, where Mozzarella di Bufala Campana PDO will be Italy’s sole representative at a conference for students, entrepreneurs, and officials dedicated to Italian cuisine, culminating in a pizza masterclass in the evening.
“The Italian Cuisine Week is an exceptional international showcase for our mozzarella,” remarked Raimondo. “This year’s strategic stops will deepen recognition and appreciation for our product, reinforcing the Consortium’s mission to promote and safeguard Campania’s ‘white gold’ within the global success story of Made in Italy food.”
