The 8th edition of the Week of Italian Cuisine in the World

More than 40 events took place across the United States in November 2023 for the eighth edition of the Week of Italian Cuisine in the World, an initiative created by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The 2023 theme was entitled: At the table with Italian cuisine: well-being with taste”.

A STRONG COLLABORATION AMONG PLAYERS

The week of Italian cuisine is central to our strategy of diplomacy of growth and culture in the United States,” said the Ambassador of Italy, Mariangela Zappia, in a press release announcing the theme and events in the US. “A driving force for our agri-food exports, which are worth over $7 billion a year in the U.S., and a formidable lever for attracting the 6 million Americans who visit Italy every year, Italian cuisine boasts a much broader potential,” she added.

The week of Italian cuisine was made possible thanks to the diplomatic-consular network in the USA, the Italian Cultural Institutes, the ICE Agency, and the Ministry of Health. Additional partners collaborated to operate a successful campaign, such as the Italian Academy of Cuisine and the American Italian Food Coalition, consortia of producers, theaters, universities, schools, restaurants and chains such as Eataly, companies in the sector, ambassadors, and Italian chefs active in the United States, and arriving from Italy.
