Italian food and beverage products will once again take center stage at the Summer Fancy Food Show in New York, from June 23 to 25 at the Jacob Javits Convention Center. The Italian Pavilion is set to be the largest exhibit space in the international section of the fair, featuring more than 300 companies and 318 stands across roughly 3,000 square meters.
As in previous years, the Italian Pavilion will showcase the full range of Made-in-Italy agri-food products under the banner of “The Extraordinary Italian Taste.” Attendees can anticipate new products and attractions: Italian companies will be located in a dedicated, visually striking area, characterized by the colors and images of Italy, highlighting the quality of the displayed products. Cooking shows and wine-tasting stations, organized by the companies at their booths, will feature Italian chefs and sommeliers demonstrating traditional recipes and conducting tastings.
ITALIAN F&B PERFORMANCE IN THE USA
The 68th edition of the Summer Fancy Food Show opens with a spotlight on Made-in-Italy, following a record-breaking 2023 for Italian agri-food exports to the USA, which reached $7.35 billion.
The positive trend continues into early 2024, with double-digit growth across key categories including olive oil, pasta, cheese, sauces, processed meats, and a notable increase in wine exports.
SUMMER FANCY FOOD: COMMITMENT OF SFA, ITA, AND UNIVERSAL MARKETING
The event is organized by the Specialty Food Association (SFA) and Universal Marketing, the latter being the exclusive SFA agent for Italy and organizer of the Italian Pavilion.
“The Summer Fancy Food Show is the premier event for discovering and learning about food industry products, with a strong emphasis this year on innovations in the food and beverage sector. We are thrilled that Italy is among the producers sharing their delicious, high-quality products with attendees,” said Bill Lynch, president of the Specialty Food Association.
“I am delighted to attend my first Summer Fancy Food Show, where over 300 Italian exhibitors will showcase all the excellent products we have come to know and love: from cheeses to extra virgin olive oils, balsamic vinegar to pasta, cured meats to sweets, and much more,” said Erica di Giovancarlo, director of the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) in New York and coordinator of the USA network. “Italians are proud to make their products sustainably, respecting our land, history, tradition, and planet. We invite everyone to this Summer’s celebration to enjoy a piece of our beautiful country.”
Donato Cinelli, president of Universal Marketing, added, “The Summer Fancy Food Show has long been more than just a food and gastronomy fair; it is a major showcase for the participating countries. It is a great pride for us at Universal Marketing, having organized the Italian Pavilion for over thirty years, to witness the significant attention that Made in Italy attracts every year at the Javits Center during the SFFS week.”
