Provolone Valpadana PDO cheese is one of the most exported delicacies in 2021

Provolone Valpadana PDO confirms itself as one of the most purchased and appreciated Italian food products of excellence. This is why it is the protagonist of the “Choose your taste, sweet or spicy, only from EU” campaign, a three-year project promoted by the Consortium for the protection of Provolone Valpadana PDO and co-financed by the European Union.

The project aims to improve the degree of recognition of European quality brand products and increase their competitiveness and consumption. To date, Provolone is the seventh Italian branded cheese in terms of volume of certified production and value to production and consumption.

FOCUSING ON SUSTAINABILITY

The reasons for this success – says the President of the Consortium, Libero Stradiottialso lie in the fact that more and more attention is being paid to sustainability and respect for the environment”.

Starting from the respect of the new climate goals set by the EU for 2030. The Consortium’s member companies will be committed to actions that will balance emissions with an equivalent absorption of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, working to improve nutrition and animal welfare. The focus will be on a significant reduction in the use of chemical pesticides, fertilizers, and antibiotics, and greater use of sustainable practices: precision farming, organic farming, agroecology, and agroforestry.
