Il Pastaio: focus on healthy products

Since its foundation in 1983, Il Pastaio has chosen to specialize in the production of gnocchi (dumplings), and in recent years is still experiencing a considerable expansion. In 2019 the balance sheet for the company from Brescia, present on the market under the Patarò brand, closed with 30 million euros in turnover, driven by exports (40% of total turnover). However, the domestic market which is growing in double figures.

Among company’s strengths – Il Pastaio ranks among the top three producers of gnocchi on the Italian market – we can find a production capacity of 25 thousand tons per year. The company can boast two plants for a total area of 15 thousand square meters, equipped with cutting-edge technology production lines and a structured quality office, with international certifications such as IFS and BRC. The offer is very wide, from first-price to high-end product lines, able to satisfy the demand of the supermarket channel, cash & carry and discount stores, both in national, European, and global markets.

FREE FROM, A NEW FRONTIER FOR GNOCCHI AS WELL

We cannot speak of functional products, but also gnocchi are certainly looking for a way within a consolidated trend such as healthy. The company also develops products with a strong health content, starting from free from (gluten, lactose, egg and allergen-free) to organic and wholemeal products.
