The fourth edition of the Italian Food Awards awaits all participants at Sial – Paris 2018 trade show (21 to 25 October), where Italy comes once again in second place as for exhibitors with more than 800 companies. The award – organized by Italianfood.net, the Food Group’s international B2B integrated project – is designed to highlight the most innovative and creative Italian food & beverage products, both in terms of ingredients and formats. The award ceremony will take place on Monday 22 October from 6:30pm to 7:30pm at “La cuisine” – within the Paris Nord Villepinte exhibition centre.
CANDIDATES AND CATEGORIES
This year there are 230 candidates for 12 categories, plus three special categories. Each participating company has nominated a maximum of two products launched on the market in the last twelve months. The awards are aimed at both large and small and medium-sized companies in the food & beverage sector. The jury is made up of buyers, importers and distributors from all over the world. This year the new ‘Ready to Use’ category was introduced, in addition to:

- Preserves & Sauces
- Rice, Cereals & Flours
- Salami
- Sweets and Confectionery
- Vinegars & Dressings
The three Special Awards will be given for the Packaging, Innovation and Sustainability categories.
ITALIAN FOOD AWARDS FOR INNOVATION
The Italian Food Awards were created to help international retail and foodservice operators discover the innovative capacity of producers of authentic Italian food & beverage. The goal is to enhance the most innovative products that are suitable to represent the main world trends.
