The 4th edition of Wine2Wine, the training and analysis forum on the wine business of Veronafiere–Vinitaly, has started. Two days (4th and 5th December in Verona) dedicated to the scenarios of the Italian wine sector markets. This year, new thematic areas have been added including many focus on emerging markets with seminars on Denmark, Japan, new US markets like Colorado, South Carolina, and Pennsylvania, Australia, Focus China and Canada, but also the UK after Brexit.
The program
Many important institutional meetings are to take place, starting with the presentation of the newco between Veronafiere and Fiere di Parma – with the presence of the president of ICE-ITA (Italian Trade Agency), Michele Scannavini – the 100 Wineries of OperaWine 2018 that will be announced by WineSpectator senior editor Alison Napjus, and the talk show entitled “Wine: white or black?” on the exports situation with the presidents Federvini, Unione Italiana Vini, Fivi and Alleanza Cooperative. Wi-Bev was born from the partnership between Veronafiere and Fiere di Parma with the scientific collaboration of Assoenologi. It is the first event dedicated to the Italian wine and beverage technologies that combines exposition of technical solutions and thematic workshops on technological innovations.
A plan for exports
Ernesto Abbona, president of Unione Italiana Vini, spoke at the talk “Italian wine: black or white?” stating that the extraordinary export plan promoted by Minister Carlo Calenda and the Wine table wanted by Undersecretary Ivan Scalfarotto are illuminating examples of how, even in Italy, a system can be built up thanks to the strong will of the public administration to fight the Italian difficulty in teaming up. A problem which can also be registered in our sector.
